Hey everyone...I need your help:

My friend Dani is trying to write a book about what the youth of this country will base their election decisions on. Whether you can vote or not, please comment as to what is important to you in this election...

Thanks!

What is important to me is the environment first of all but neither Bush nor Kerry seem to care much about that from what ive seen/heard. Other than that, I don't think the wealthy should get tax cuts. It's ridiculous. My family is middle class and the middle class needs tax cuts more than the wealthy. It just doesn't make sense. I really think we need a strong military and because we can, we should help those in need. Both Kerry and Bush want that too i think but it all depends on how they are going to handle it. Maybe Kerry couldn't have done better than Bush, but why let Bush screw us up even more? Give Kerry a chance! lol I'd vote for Kerry if i could vote...

just clearing things up
also, im a very suspicious person, thats why i said what i did about Kerry. He could easily just say one thing and do another once he is president, just like any other person. What kills me is that it is so easy to lie and everyone treats the candidates as if they know them personally. But the thing is, i want to see what Kerry CAN do and that's why i'd vote for him. We've already seen what Bush can do and we don't need any more of it.

LOL, and I would love you even more than I already do (if that is possible) for voting for Kerry...although I wouldn't love you any less for voting otherwise.

I say if we're going to be the world's police, we need to free Cuba. Cuba libre! Kick Castro's ass and let these people be free. It doesn't look like these Iraqis want to be free. The Cubans do.

I'm voting because my friend Ashley told me to vote, even though I'm too young to. But I'd vote for Civil equality: things like Gay Rights and Women's Rights.

Well, for one thing, the environment is really important to me. President Bush is completely DESTROYING the environment - he lowered clean air standards and isn't cracking down on businesses that pollute like he should be. If we have four more years of HIM, then it won't be safe to breathe.

Also, the issue of jobs and the economy -- Tax cuts for the wealthy, what is THAT bullshit? Trickle-down economics NEVER work. And giving tax cuts to businesses that are sending jobs overseas? What about all the poor, unemployed people working here? There are hundreds of people in this country who can't find work.

Abortion is also something that I care about. I am pro-choice. This doesn't mean I'm a baby-killing demon, it just means that I don't think that a bunch of old men up on capital hill should be telling ME what to do with my body. I myself would never get an abortion, but I think that women should be able to choose whether or not they want to keep their baby.

I believe that gay marriage should be allowed. Denying marriage to a homosexual couple is denying rights to HUMANS who are AMERICANS just like everyone else. Its impossible to justify descrimination. It's just like telling a black woman she can't marry a white man.

I also don't agree with the war in Iraq, but I don't know enough about it to really back up my opinion.

Thank you! Exactly. I totally agree. I laughed about the men on Capital Hill thing, but it's really true. What the hell do they know about being pregnant and scared? As far as I'm concerned, they can all take their rosaries off my ovaries.

As for gay marriage, I don't think anyone should have the right to tell me who can or cannot be my partner and visit me in the hospital and share my insurance plan. I'm not saying that gays need to be allowed to marry in churches; I'm saying that they need to be recognized as couples just like married couples are. People get married for stupid stupid reasons and it's okay because they're heterosexual couples. Dennis Rodman got married! Liza keeps marrying gay men! So why can't two men or two women in love be together and be able to enjoy the benefits that straight couples can? It's hard enough to be anything but straight...why are these people making it harder?
