Happy birthday to you...happy birthday to you...

Happy birthday to my livejournal...happy birthday to you.

As it turns out, today makes one year since I've had my livejournal. 785 (counting this one) entries later, here I am. The thought of one year going by is just amazing. And to think that it's all here. How many people have a whole year of their life recorded?

Despite what some say about livejournal, I like it. I mean, there was a time where I deleted it...the time I went totally friends only (which is why those who are not friended- i.e. school people, can only see up to a certain point), the time I wished certain people hadn't seen it, etc. People blame all the bad stuff on livejournal, but it's not livejournal. It's people and the way they use livejournal. Big difference there. Oh, and what my icon says still applies.

Well, I only have a few more days to get things together for FSU. I had Mrs. Loewe read and critique my essays, and Court did as well. Court, you were actually a bigger help than the person with the degree! :) Mrs. Loewe said they were "pretty good. Not great great, but pretty good." Okaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy...I mean, I can take the, "This sentence makes no sense, this is misspelled...", whatever. It just...I don't know. I suppose I just hate hearing, "I know you can do better than this", even if I'm just inferring it and no one actually said it. My second essay needs a lot of work, but I thought the first one was good after I got a lot of correction on it. Whatever. In the end, this is my college application and no one else's.

Jackie took my headshots today, and Mike's as well. Hopefully those turn out...I'm excited to see what happens. :) Thanks for that, Jackie. You're awesome!

Interesting discussion on the casual use of the word "rape". A lot of people disagree with me, but what else is new? I'm just trying to not fall into that trap.

Quotes from today:
"The thing about playing naked Twister after prom is that everyone is going to find out about it. You'll come back on Monday and be walking down the hall, and suddenly you'll hear, 'Hey Ashley! Right foot on red!'"-Me

Student 1: Hey, is she [the teacher] yelling at a boy again?

Student 2: Yeah. That's racism!

That occurred in the same class where I heard a guy say to the girl in front of me, "You don't know what ocean we live on?" She replied, "Well how am I supposed to know?"

She was being serious.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have an article to write on cheating.

I am so different outside of school

"...somewhere there's a beautiful boy making two cups of coffee and drinking one, sleeping on one side of the bed, always making dinner for two out of habit and putting the rest somewhere in the back of the freezer . . . he's living as usual, for the most part, but the place is a little too quiet without the clicking of keyboards and the coffee grinder going on at midnight..." -Lila (Justice's friend)

That's part of something she wrote for Justice (which, I have to say, was one of the most beautiful things I've ever read), but that particular part made me speechless for some reason. I guess it's just the thought that somewhere out there is the person that you're going to meet who will love you and that you will love. He or she is living their life right now, and one day you'll meet them and turn their world upside down, and vice versa. There is someone out there who is not complete without you.
