School and other musings

"But love, I've come to understand, is more than three words mumbled before bedtime. Love is sustained by action, a pattern of devotion in the things we do for each other every day." -The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks

I picked that book up at the airport yesterday and spent the flight from NY to FL reading it. I was sad to have it end. What an awesome story. It is written from the point of view of the son-in-law of Noah Calhoun from The Notebook, so if you liked that book, you'll love this one.

I read Dry by Augusten Burroughs on the way up there (and every spare second I had on Thursday afternoon), and loved it. I love him! He's fantastic. I'm reading Running With Scissors now, which is the other book I picked up at the airport yesterday. In the process of doing so, I left my Kate Monster poster there. Fuck. I have to call them today and pray that an avid Avenue Q fan did not pick it up.

I have tons of summer reading and spanish work to do today. Soooooooo much. It's sad. But I also have tomorrow to finish it all up, so at least there's that.

I suppose I have to get there early on Tuesday to find a locker (a senior having to get a locker is really kind of pitiful) because my parking space is not ideal for the ubiquitous senior book crates in the back of one's car. The problem is, I have no idea what my schedule is, so I don't know where to get one. I guess B or A would be ideal, since most of the senior classes are held around there.

I'm kind of dreading the new school year. It's not because I'm leaving, it's because of what leaving means. Leaving means college apps and class ranks and the fact that just about every event that occurs within school property is prefaced with the word, "last".

And I don't want to audition for the 1st semester play. However, I'm psyched about auditioning for FSU.

I feel lost.
